Why Should You Buy The Chandler Tool CT100 Stand-Up Glue Gun? If the Chandler Tool CT100 looks different than other glue guns, that’s because it is different. Once you experience the ease & convenience of our patented “Stand-Up” base, you’ll wonder how you survived without it! No more tipping. No more dripping. And for those times you’d prefer a traditional wire stand, we’ve included one of those too. Our most powerful model yet, the 100 watt CT100 is our answer to the handyman or handywoman looking for a heavy-duty gun for home repairs & DIY projects. For use with 11mm (7/16”) glue sticks (10 included) QUALITY Do you like throwing away tools & buying new ones? We don’t. That’s why we built the CT100 to last. With a body made from top-quality impact-resistant plastic & an all-metal precision heating element, this just might be the last glue gun you buy. Safety - A defective glue gun is both an electrical hazard & a fire hazard! Beware CE-certified (Europe-only) & non-certified (yikes!) glue guns. UL-certification is the North-American safety standard. UL certification is very expensive & manufacturers are proud to display it, so if a product doesn’t say “UL Certified” you can be sure it’s not. Unlike most hot glue guns sold online, the Chandler Tool CT100 Stand-Up Glue Gun is fully UL-certified. Who is Chandler Tool? Born out of frustration with low-quality throw-away tools, Chandler Tool was founded with a single purpose: to create high quality tools that last a lifetime. Though many of our products are produced overseas, we are an American company, building tools to American standards for American customers. Buy with confidence. We stand by our products with American customer service.
▶ Stand-Up Base - With a stand built right into the handle, our hot-glue gun is always standing up, ready for action! No more laying down on the job (and no more sticking to the table!)
▶ Heavy Duty - 100 watts of power & large-diameter glue sticks to knock out those big construction jobs that 10-20 watt mini craft guns and small-diameter glue sticks simply can’t
▶ Drip-Free - In addition to pioneering the stand-up base, Chandler Tool is the leader in no-drip technology. Less Waste. Less Mess. More work!
▶ Glue Included - 12 high quality 8” long clear full size (7/16”) glue sticks included. Beware other glue guns with mini (5/16”) or short (4”) low-quality glue sticks!
▶ Best quality - Sure, there are super cheap hot glue guns on the market, but you get what you pay for. Ours just might be the last glue gun you ever own
First up, the glue gun isn't truly 100W as a reasonable person like me would assume it to be. At best, it's "100W" when you power it on and the initial inrush can reach that high for a second and rapidly fall off within seconds. The gun actually runs at about 20W. The pic is taken with it being the only device on an UPS (and is likely accurate, as a 75W traditional incandescent reads exactly 75W).That said, it warms up very fast, so this initial inrush might help serve to get the gun to a usable state faster. I was able to start using it within a minute. Either way, it's misleading. You'd expect a 100W gun to run at 100W.Not-really-100W aside, the other points:* Easy to operate if you lack grip strength. I've used glue guns that have miserable trigger pull action or unusably tiny nozzles. This one is nicer.* You have both the "traditional" stand option (the easy-to-knock-over wire you find on other guns) and a decently sturdy wide, upright, and removable base. The latter can still be knocked over, but not nearly as easily. Normal glue guns it's like a gentle breeze could topple them. This one you need to really knock it. Either way, you have both options with this one in case you like to occasionally live dangerously.* (minor personal thing) It's got that micro-gritty plastic on everything but the nozzle. This is just a personal gripe. I hate--hate--that texture, and when it rubs against itself it's almost like nails on a chalkboard to me, just from a feeling standpoint rather than a noise one. Had it been smoother plastic, or at least more coated in a grippy silicone-y "rubber" like the non-metal portion of the nozzle is, I'd be far happier, and it would feel far sturdier / more premium.* UL certified as E122333 (a specialty heater from YEU CHYUAN INDUSTRIAL CO). A bonus over most other glue guns, as this means it's far less likely to cause an electrical fire due to shoddy design.* Made in Taiwan.Overall, not going to send it back. It's inexpensive enough and works well enough that it's fine for my needs.
