The bridge popped off an old acoustic a family member had, and I bought this stuff after gluing and clamping with wood glue failed. The wood glue caused the wood fibers to swell and change shape, and with the clamping it didn't dry in the 48 hours I had it tight.I bought this after watching some YouTube videos, cleaned the wood glue off and let the guitar body and bridge dry, and this stuff worked great. Easy to apply and forgiving with work time, and when it was dry I had a super clean, very tight joint that held under string tension with no problem.Good product, but only has a year and a half shelf life once it's opened.I used this tite bond hide glue to repair my grand daughters guitar, that she busted the head stock off of. Worked perfectly! The bond is strong and the guitar stays in tune! This type of glue is a must for musical instruments and furniture repair. Where other wood glues boast that the joint is stronger than the wood itself, that means you'll be breaking the wood up if you need to take something apart to make a repair. This "hide" glue is designed to be just weaker than the wood, so the glue will crack apart when you pry or heat it, and not the wood of your guitar or violin or antique chair. That it is available in a bottle, instead of traditional mix and heat chips, means you'll actually use it when you're supposed to, instead of reaching for the tite-bond and making life a horror for the next person who has to fix the thing you're working on. Get it. Use it. Future owners of your stuff will be grateful that you did.So I was looking for leather glue and bought hide glue. I can't really rate it because I haven't used it. Didn't return it because I'm working on a lot of crafts for xmas so I figure it will come in handy eventually. Meanwhile, I'm an idiot.I have a cheap guitar that I bought new in ‘98. The head started separating from the neck. The glue was thin enough to flow into the split area but I also used a piece of yarn dabbed in the glue to get as much glue inside as possible. Clamped it. Let it sit for a day then tuned it and it’s working great for about a month now. I get some fret buzz because but it’s a cheap guitar but I mostly use distortion so it’s fine. Don’t worry about excess glue, it cleans off with a wet paper towel.excellent productMy Gibson SG body split on both sides of the neck some years ago. Getting brave and with some better woodworking skills these days I pulled the ole' SG out and decided to try and repair it. I previously bought this product for a another project and figured I"d give it a try. I prepared the guitar by removing the strings and the forward pickup. I dry clamped to make sure clamping was correctly bonding the "wounds". On a blog it was suggested to put the bottle in some warm water to make the glue flow a little easier into cracks. I let it sit in the water for about 20 minutes. Had the wife help me pull the cracks open gently and poured the glue. It flowed nicely down the cracks. Clamped it up for 24 hours and waited another 48 to re-string and adjust the guitar. That was a year ago and it has experienced two gigs and several practices. Thank you Titebond for having my Gibson SG back.Spot on, makes using hide glue very straight forward as there is no need of a hot glue pot. I've used this brand for years and it is brilliant. Very strong, easy to use and clean up. If you want to make it runnier simply warm the bottle in hot water for five minutes before use, simple as that. Old school materials that stand the test of time, you can't beat them.I used this to repair a shaky chair, chair legs chair back and a totally broken chair. The glue is fantastic, all six chairs back as new. Clean secure and works excellent. The totally broken chair is as new and was a better repair when totally broken and had to glue back together. This glue has saved me a lot of money because I was going to buy new chairs. This glue is better than I thought it would be. Used it to glue a guitar bridge and it holds firm. easy to clear up after as it is reversable and cleans of with water. It will also reverdable and water will remove a item stuck with it if you want to as to change the bridge for a new one.I used the Titebond hide glue on some peeling veneer. It worked perfectly. I then lightly watered it down so I could inject under lifting veneer. Again worked really well. Titebond hide glue saves mixing hide glue and heating and storing it etcPerfect for repairs on antique furnitureThis was the right glue to use to reattach a fingerboard to a violin
